BrickTownPA is an independent community-history project. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by Mount Union Area School District, Mount Union Borough, PIAA, or any business or organization listed on the site. Names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
This page explains how information is handled and how to request a correction, credit, accessibility accommodation, or content review. It is a practical public policy for the site and is not a claim of institutional or regulatory certification.
BrickTownPA does not require user accounts and does not operate an online submission form. When you voluntarily email a story, photograph, correction, or business update, the site operator receives the information contained in that email. It may be retained to evaluate the submission, document its source and permission, contact you, publish approved material, or respond to a correction or removal request.
Do not send passwords, Social Security numbers, financial information, private messages, student records, grades, disciplinary or medical information, or other confidential material. BrickTownPA is a public community-history project, not a student-information system. If sensitive information is received unintentionally, it will not be knowingly published and may be deleted.
The site uses third-party features and links, including an embedded Google map and a weather widget. Those providers may receive technical information such as an IP address or browser information under their own privacy policies. Following an external link takes you to a site BrickTownPA does not control.
School and athletics pages are intended as a public historical record, not as educational records or student profiles. They should contain only appropriately sourced, publicly reported information such as schedules, scores, rosters, awards, and historical statistics. BrickTownPA does not knowingly solicit private information directly from children under 13. A parent, guardian, student, or former student may request review of an image or personal entry.
By sending material with the request or reasonable expectation that it be published on BrickTownPA, you represent that you created or own the material, that it is in the public domain, or that you have permission from the rights holder to share it. You grant BrickTownPA a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to display, reproduce, lightly edit, format, archive, and promote the submitted material in connection with the project. You retain any ownership you already hold.
Contributors should provide the creator's name, original source, approximate date, desired credit, and any known usage restrictions. When a submission depicts living people, particularly children, the contributor should have appropriate permission. Submission does not guarantee publication. BrickTownPA may edit, decline, unpublish, or return material because of ownership, privacy, accuracy, relevance, safety, or space concerns.
BrickTownPA uses public records, historical sources, factual information, original writing, public-domain material, appropriately licensed material, and community submissions. A citation identifies a source but does not by itself grant permission to reproduce copyrighted text or images. Unless otherwise stated, the site's original writing and design may not be republished in full without permission.
Rights information for older community photographs can be incomplete. If you own rights to material appearing here, or believe material has been used incorrectly, email a specific page link, a description of the work, the basis for your claim, and your contact information. The material will be reviewed promptly and may be temporarily removed while ownership is clarified.
BrickTownPA aims to distinguish documented history, personal recollection, and community lore. Historical sources sometimes conflict, and business details, schedules, links, and public records can change. Inclusion does not constitute an endorsement, and the site does not guarantee that every entry is complete or current. Corrections supported by a source are welcomed.
AI-assisted tools may be used to help organize research, transcribe supplied documents, draft or edit text, structure data, improve code, and identify items for human review. AI output is not treated as a historical source. Material intended for publication should be reviewed against source documents and public records before it is posted.
No confidential student records, private school-system credentials, or intentionally collected sensitive personal information should be entered into AI tools for this project. Public-facing pages remain under human editorial control, and corrections are welcomed.
BrickTownPA aims to provide meaningful alternative text for images, keyboard-accessible navigation, readable contrast, descriptive links, and properly labeled tables and controls. If any page, document, map, or feature is difficult to use with assistive technology, request the information in an alternative format and identify the page and problem encountered.
For permissions, corrections, privacy questions, accessibility assistance, credit changes, or removal requests, email bruce.j.smithiv@gmail.com. Include the relevant page address and enough detail to locate and evaluate the material. Requests will be reviewed in good faith; removal is not automatic when lawful historical or public-interest documentation is involved.
