Tessa McCormick coached Trojan girls volleyball for 20 consecutive seasons from 2005-06 through 2024-25. A four-year letterwinner at Berlin Brothersvalley and Fairmont State, she took over the rebuilding Mount Union program in 2005 with Renae Hobbs assisting at the junior-varsity level. Her tenure's high point came in 2011-12, with a 20-5-2 record. Matt Sellers became head coach in 2025-26.

McCormick inherited a young roster in 2005 with only three returning letterwinners: captain Carrie Knepp, Marsha Melnyk and Toyia Price. The Trojans finished 6-14 overall and 2-12 in the Mountain Athletic Conference Division II. Seniors Emily Brown, Kaylie Morrison, Knepp and Belgian exchange student Julie Huge were honored at the final home match.
By 2006, five seniors and six returning letterwinners formed the core. Melnyk and Price served as captains, with Alissa Waite, Bridget Hocker, Tierney Crouse and libero Taylor Walters among the experienced returners. Mount Union improved to 16-12-2 overall and 9-5 in the conference, tying Bald Eagle Area for third place and advancing to the District 6 playoffs.
Lily Hicks directed the offense at setter and reached 19 assists in a match. Harper McCormick and Isabella “Bella” Yocum each recorded 17 or more digs in multiple matches. Tenly Huffnagle, Aubrey Baker and Jazzlene Inch produced multi-kill performances, while Madison Eichelberger and Sydnee Harris contributed from the service line.
These are published single-match highlights rather than complete season totals. For 2024-25 (2-8), individual player statistics were checked but had not been entered on MaxPreps.
Taylor Miles is the program's documented 1,000-kill member. No Mount Union District 6 volleyball championship has been identified in the championship records reviewed.

Senior middle Taylor Miles reached 1,000 career kills during the third set of Mount Union's Senior Night match against unbeaten West Branch on October 26, 2011. She entered the match needing 11 kills and finished with a team-high 16 kills and seven blocks. The milestone came during a season in which Tessa McCormick's Trojans finished the regular season 17-4-2 overall and 11-3 in the ICC North before entering the District 6 Class A playoffs as the fourth seed.
That Senior Night match also marked Makayla Powell's final home appearance; she recorded 16 digs. Ashlyn Drake supplied 19 assists, while Kristin Miles added eight kills and six blocks.

The Trojans defeated Glendale 3–1 on September 14 before losing 3–0 to Southern Huntingdon on September 15 and 3–1 to Claysburg on September 17. The Claysburg report put Mount Union at 2–6 and credited Harper McCormick with 10 kills and 19 digs and Haley Atherton with 18 digs.
